The GS-911 software should be downloaded from the downloads section of the http://www.hexcode.co.za website.

For this you are required to be a Validated Customer, which means you have a username and password, that was supplied to you by either hexcode, or the reseller that you purchased your GS-911 from! If you purchased it from a reseller, and have NOT received it, please contact your reseller about this.

• If you know your username (this generally is your complete email address that you used to order GS-911), then follow the for Forgot your password? link
• If you can't remember your username, try the complete email address that you would have used to order GS-911 (keep in mind, usernames and passwords are CaSe SeNsItIvE)
• If this still does not work, look for the confirmation email that you were sent when GS-911 was shipped to you. This contains your username and password.
• If you have just ordered GS-911, you will have to wait until your order is shipped. The shipping confirmation email probably contains your tracking number, and hence cannot be sent before the device is shipped.
• If you've already received your GS-911 device, but no confirmation email with your username and password, then first check your SPAM bucket, before contacting the reseller that you purchased GS-911 from.
• If ALL else fails, contact us...
  

As we supply GS-911 to run on various platforms, you should make sure that you download the correct version for your target platform

For this User Manual we will be concentrating on the Windows PC (for Windows XP and Windows Vista) - for the installations instructions for Windows Mobile, Blackberry and the Java mobile versions, please see the relevant HowTo documents under the HowTo section!

This section covers the installation of the GS-911 software (Windows PC version) for Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista.

Install the software BEFORE you plug the GS-911 interface into your PC!!!

It is essential that you allow the installer to install the USB driver!! Please do NOT allow Windows to choose it's own driver!

First you would like to know what to search for... You are looking for the round 10-pin diagnostic connector. This link also shows some of the various locations of the 10-pin diagnostic connector.

1. Make sure your interface is the correct side up and the connector ring twisted as far left as possible.  Make sure the ignition is OFF at this point and the USB cable preferably not connected to the GS-911 interface at this point.
2. Align the receptacle correctly (with the red tab at the bottom), and insert.
3. Finally, twist the connector ring as far right as possible, to lock it in place.
4. Connect the USB cable, if using USB.
